Americans Matt Reed and Sarah Haskins took the first step in defending their 2009 Race To The Toyota Cup titles by winning today’s Lifetime Fitness Triathlon in Minneapolis, Minn. Both turned in steady races and ultimately ran a fast third leg to take the wins.

While American women fared well in the ITU Best Swimmer Rankings, the ITU Best Runner Rankings belong to a group made up of all International athletes. Beijing Olympic Gold Medalist Jan Frodeno of Germany leads the men with 37 points, while Barbara Riveros Diaz of Chile leads the women with 33.5 points.

Germany’s Andreas Raelert and Sandra Wallenhorst overcome tough competition to take the wins at Sunday’s Ironman European Championship in Frankfurt, Germany. Raelert’s win came thanks to a dominating performance on the bike, while Wallenhorst worked her way through the field and only took the lead in the final miles of the run.

Americans Andy Potts and Linsey Corbin won today’s Ironman Coeur d’Alene in Idaho. Potts led nearly from start to finish to earn a dominating victory, while Corbin battled with American Meredith Kessler all day and came out on top thanks to a strong run.
