Because New Zealand’s Matt Reed and Great Britain’s Julie Dibens were victorious in that race, they have more incentive than others to win Sunday’s Rev3 Quassy triathlon in Middlebury, Conn. With the wins, each of them is eligible for the $125,000 prize purse up for grabs if any male or female can sweep the three-race Rev3 series.

NEW YORK (21-Apr) — Reigning ING New York City Marathon champion Meb Keflezighi announced here today that he is forming a charitable foundation which will support varied causes in health, fitness and education.  Called the MEB Foundation, which the Olympic Marathon silver medalist said stood for “Maintaining Excellent Balance,”  the announcement was made at the RUN store by Foot Locker just off of Union Square in Manhattan.

Meb To Announce New Foundation

American Meb Keflezighi will be down in New York City to announce his new foundation known as the MEB Foundation. The MEB foundation will focus on promoting health, fitness and education in the United States and in Meb’s native country of Eritrea.

Meb will be at RUN by Foot Locker located between 5th Avenue and University in New York City on Wednesday to unveil the foundation. The announcement of his foundation comes just two days after his gutsy fifth place finish at the 2010 Boston Marathon.
